The 25th CUIEET will take place in Badajoz during the days 5 to 8th september 2017, in the Industrial Engineering School of Extremadura University.

The headquarters

The Industrial Engineering School is a universitary teaching center integrated in the University of Extremadura and located in Badajoz campus.

It was initially created as Universitary School of Technical Industrial Engineering as it is estipulated by the ordinance 2526/1975 of 9th october (BOE of 27th october).

During the term 2009/10 new Degrees were implemented in this institution: Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electronic and Automatics Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering, substituting the former degrees in Industrial Engineering.

Badajoz airport is located at 14 Km from Badajoz. Currently, the only operating air company is Air Europa, which direct flights to/from Madrid and Barcelona.

You can get to Badajoz made using A5 road (from the east), A66 to Mérida, and then A5 toBadajoz (from the south or north) or A6 (Portugal highway, from the west).

Urban buses in Badajoz

In particular, lines 3 and 9 connect different city areas with the University where the Industrial Engineering School is.

A bus has been managed by the Conference Organization, which will go all over the hotels related to the Conference (go and return) in order to facilitate the transfers of attendants.

What to do in Badajoz and sorrounding areas?

In the southeast of Spain, Badajoz is the natural Portugal entrance door. This city was founded in the year 875 by Ibn Marwan in la Muela hill, where the Alcazaba Árabe is currently located, s. XII. This citadel is considered as one of the greatest of Iberian península, and has been declared Artistic Historic Monument since 1931 and is the most significant monument in Badajoz.
Appart from the Alcazaba, other interesting monuments can be found such as Espantaperros tower, Palmas door and bridge, Plaza Alta (square), San Juan cathedral…
